For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE or ATV. Trail or “dirt” bikes, three-wheelers, four-wheelers or “quads” and similar devices other than snowmobiles used at least partially for travel all natural terrain, but not “special mobile equipment,” defined in M.S. § 168.011(22), as it may be amended from time to time, which is hereby incorporated herein by reference.
OWNER. A person, other than a lien holder having the property on or title to snowmobile or ATV entitled to the use or possession
OPERATE. To ride in or on and control the operation of a snowmobile or ATV.
OPERATOR. Every person who operates or is in actual physical control of a snowmobile or ATV.
ROADWAY. The portion of a highway improved, designed or ordinarily used for vehicular travel.
SNOWMOBILE. A self-propelled vehicle designed for travel on snow or ice or natural terrain, steered by skis or runners.
