(A) Dwellings and other buildings and structures which require, because of infiltration of water into basements, crawlspaces and other sub-surface spaces, a sump pump system shall have a permanently installed discharge line which shall not at any time discharge water into the sanitary sewer system.
(B) The sump pump discharge line shall provide continuous discharge capability from the confined space to either:
(1) The outside of the dwelling building or structure; or
(2) To the city storm sewer provided that the discharge shall at no time travel through the curb and gutter and onto the street.
(C) The discharge line shall consist of a rigid material without valving or quick connections for altering the path of discharge.
(D) If the discharge line is connected to the city storm sewer line it must include a check valve and an air gap located in a small diameter structure consistent with the requirements in Minn. Rules part 4715.0100, as it may be amended from time to time, or as otherwise approved by the city.
