(A) Election date fixed. The city general election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even numbered year, beginning with the 2024 election. There shall be no regular city election in 2023.
(B) Terms. The term of office for Mayor shall be two years and Council members shall be four years.
(C) Transition to even year elections.
(1) The term of the Council members whose current terms would end the December 31, 2023 are extended to December 31, 2024 and those offices will be filled at the 2024 city election.
(2) The term of the Mayor who is elected in 2021 and will begin their term on January 1, 2022 and would end December 31, 2024 and that office will be filled at the 2024 city election.
(3) The terms of the Council members who are elected in 2021 and begin their terms on January 1, 2022 would end on December 31, 2026 and those offices will be filled at the 2026 City election.
