§ 34.41 TERM LIMITS.
   All appointed members of a commission, board, or committee shall serve no more than two consecutive four-year terms, subject to the following provisions:
   (A)   An appointed member of a commission, board, or committee that has served more than four years as of the date of the adoption of this subchapter shall be eligible to serve one additional and consecutive four-year term.
   (B)   An appointed member of a commission, board, or committee that has served less than four years as of the date of the adoption of this subchapter shall be eligible to serve the remainder of that term as well as a second consecutive four-year term.
   (C)   All members of a commission, board, or committee appointed to new terms after the adoption of this subchapter shall be limited to serving two consecutive four-year terms.
   (D)   Notwithstanding the foregoing limitations, the following additional considerations shall apply to appointments:
      (1)   The eligibility of any member appointed to replace another member during the outgoing member's term shall be subject to terms of division (B), above.
      (2)   In the event the Town Council, its commissions, or members of its departments responsible for making appointments to town commissions, boards, or committee is or are unable to identify an eligible candidate to serve in an appointed position, a member of a commission, board, or committee that is otherwise ineligible to serve on a commission, board, or committee due to term limits may be appointed or re-appointed to such a position until a replacement or new appointment is made.
