§ 50.03 TAP AND RELATED CONSTRUCTION CHARGES.
   (A)   A tap charge shall be collected from each customer, prior to connection to the water system, in an amount equal to the cost of labor and material necessary for tapping the main and the installation of service from the main to the curb stop, and the cost of furnishing and installing a suitable water meter.
   (B)   The tap charge for any meter up to and including one inch shall be $1,500. The tap charge for any meter larger than one inch and/or for any meter installed in Long Beach Cove, which shall include properties along Tinkers Way, Hideaway Point, Captain Walk, Grande Mere, Shorewood Drive, Duffy Lane, and Fairway Drive, shall be billed on a time and material basis.
   (C)   Installations or repairs made by or on behalf of the town and at a customer’s request, including, but not limited to, a new water tap or service line upgrades, shall be the responsibility of the customer. The customer shall also pay all expenses associated with surface restoration in addition to any applicable tap fees and/or service line replacement charges. For purposes of this division, surfaces shall include but not be limited to roads, driveways, and landscaping. A written determination of the surfaces to be restored and associated expenses shall be determined prior to the commencement of any work where practicable, but the nature of a project may necessitate that such determinations are made after the completion of a project and in no case relieve the customer from the obligation to pay for any applicable expenses.
