Telecommunications facilities are regulated at the federal, state, and local level. The 1996 telecommunications act was enacted in February 1996, by the federal government. Provisions for the placement of antenna structures and other facilities for use in providing personal wireless services are contained in this act. The right of local agencies to regulate these facilities based on aesthetics, visual impacts, and land use impacts are preserved in section 704. (Ord. 2011-235, 5-26-2011, eff. 5-26-2011)
