11-4-11: VIOLATIONS; PENALTY:
   A.   Any person who shall violate any provisions of this chapter, or who shall do that which is prohibited, or who shall refuse or fail to do that which is commanded, shall be guilty of an offense and shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished as provided in section 11-1-11 of this title. Each day of such violation shall be a separate offense.
   B.   Specifically, but not by way of limitation of the general penalty provision hereof, the following acts are prohibited, and any person convicted thereof shall be punished as provided in section 11-1-11 of this title. Each day of such violations shall constitute a separate offense:
      1.   No person, firm or corporation shall do or cause to be done or permit any of its officers or employees to do any electrical work within the City without first obtaining a building permit therefor from the Office of the Electrical Inspector;
      2.   No person, firm or corporation shall cause or permit any employee who is not a journeyman possessing a certificate of competency issued by the City electrical inspector or a registered apprentice to do any electrical work within the City;
      3.   No person, firm or corporation shall do any electrical work within the City who is not a journeyman with a current certificate of competency as a journeyman electrician or who is not a registered apprentice as provided in this chapter;
      4.   No person, firm or corporation shall permit one (1) or more apprentices to work on any job or project without direct personal supervision by a journeyman electrician;
      5.   No person, firm or corporation shall permit more than three (3) apprentices to work under the supervision of one (1) journeyman electrician;
      6.   No apprentice shall do any electrical work within the City except under the direct supervision of a journeyman electrician;
      7.   No journeyman electrician or apprentice shall perform electrical work within the City unless he shall have on his person a current journeyman's certificate of competency or apprentice's certificate of registration, and no journeyman or apprentice, while performing electrical work within the City, shall refuse to display his certificate of registration upon request of the electrical inspector, an assistant electrical inspector or a police officer of the City; and
      8.   No apprentice shall do any electrical work within the City in conjunction with more than two (2) such apprentices under the supervision of the same journeyman electrician. (Ord. 2017-265, 4-17-2017, eff. 5-1-2017)
