A. Office Created; Appointment; Qualifications: There is hereby created the Office of Chief Electrical Inspector. The Chief Electrical Inspector shall be appointed by the City Manager. He should have a State electrical contractor's license and shall not be interested, either directly or indirectly, in any firm or corporation engaged in electrical business within the City.
B. Powers And Duties:
1. The electrical inspector shall be charged with the duty of enforcing the Electrical Code as contained in this chapter.
2. The electrical inspector, in the discharge of his duties, may enter any building or premises at any time during business hours, or at any reasonable hour upon notification of owner, agent or occupant, and upon the refusal of any owner, agent or occupant to allow such inspection as required of the electrical inspector, he shall be cited by law for an offense.
3. The electrical inspector shall also institute, by and with the advice of the City Attorney, such prosecutions as may be necessary against any violators of any ordinance with the enforcement of which he is charged. (Ord. 2017-265, 4-17-2017, eff. 5-1-2017)
