11-4-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
APPRENTICE WIREMAN: Any person who is learning the electric wiring trade and who is competent to assist, under the supervision of a journeyman wireman, in the work of installing or repairing electric wiring or installing nonportable electric fixtures or apparatus.
ELECTRIC WIRING: The installation of electrical raceways, conduits or apparatus of any kind used, or to be used, in or on any building for the transmission and distribution of electric current for electric light, heat or power, or nonportable electrical fixtures and apparatus of any nature to be connected to light, heat or power service. The words "electric wiring", "electrical equipment" and "apparatus" shall not be deemed to include or refer to service lines, apparatus, and equipment for the sale, distribution, and regulation of electricity and remaining the property of the electric service company or for telephone, telegraph or other communication purposes, or in connection therewith.
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of installing, repairing or altering electrical wiring, or nonportable electric fixtures or apparatus in the City, and who has complied with the terms of this chapter.
ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR: The Chief Electrical Inspector of the City or any of his duly authorized assistants.
JOURNEYMAN WIREMAN: Any person qualified under the provisions of this chapter to engage in the installing or repairing of electric wiring or installing nonportable electric fixtures or apparatus in the City, and who has complied with the terms of this chapter.
