6-1-1: POLICE DEPARTMENT AND CHIEF:
There shall be a police department, the head of which shall be the chief of police. The chief of police shall be an officer of the city and shall have supervision and control of the police department. All police officers shall be officers of the city. (1990 Code § 13-401)
