(a) In any district, any use (except for a dwelling unit or a home occupation) that requires the receipt and/or distribution by motor vehicles of materials and/or merchandise (including uses such as manufacturing, storage, warehousing, discount stores, wholesale operations, retail stores, restaurants, hotels, motels, hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, laundries, nurseries, groceries, dry cleaners, bars and drug stores) shall provide at least one off-street loading space on the same lot as the building. For structures with more than 10,000 square feet of gross floor area, one additional on-lot loading space shall be provided for each additional 10,000 square feet (or fraction thereof) of gross floor area.
Establishments without off-street loading spaces must use the nearest alley.
