242.04 HUMANE OFFICERS.
   (a)   The Safety-Service Director is hereby authorized to appoint up to ten part-time humane officers who shall act as dog wardens in the City. The humane officers shall seize and deliver to the County Dog Pound any dog found to be unlicensed or running at large in the City.

   (b)   Part-time humane officers, appointed pursuant to subsection (a) hereof, shall be compensated at an hourly rate to be determined from time to time by Council. All compensable hours shall be approved by the Chief of Police prior to submission to the City Auditor.
