209.01 PUBLIC RECORDS.
   (a)   The City, in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, defines records as any document, whether paper, electronic (including, but not limited to, e-mail) or other format that is created or received by, or comes under the jurisdiction of a public office that documents the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, operations, or other activities of the office. All records of the City are public unless the Ohio Revised Code specifically exempts them from disclosure.
   (b)   As required by Ohio law, the City will organize and maintain its records so that they are readily available for inspection and copying (See Section 209.04 for the e-mail record policy). The City will regularly update its record retention schedules and post them prominently.
