Restaurant businesses may place chairs and tables outside their buildings on public sidewalks upon issuance of a sidewalk café permit. Sidewalk cafés are limited to a maximum of ten tables (each a maximum a 20 square feet) and subject to city staff review of specific site limitations. Such permits may be purchased at any time during a calendar year, but all such permits shall expire on December 31 of the same calendar year. No permit shall be issued to any business that is not in compliance with all provisions of the city code. State limitations and requirements shall apply to all state right-of-ways.
