(A) Sprinkler meter user – no direct tap-on.
(1) A user of the city Sewer and Water System may procure a separate sprinkler meter for underground sprinkler systems where there is no separate tap into the city's main water line. The meter shall be owned by the city. The city reserves the right to inspect said sprinkler meter and user's premises in order to determine if the sprinkler meter is being used solely for the above-mentioned purpose.
(2) The sprinkler meter shall be billed on the basis of water charges of the city but shall not be billed for sewer charges.
(3) The user shall be responsible for the installation of said meter at the actual cost of said meter plus the following:
(a) $50 Water Department service and inspection costs.
(b) Inspection fees for plumbing and electrical inspection, if required.
(B) Sprinkler meter user – direct tap-on to city's main water line.
(1) A user of the city Sewer and Water System may procure a separate sprinkler meter for underground sprinkler systems which directly tap-on to the main water line. The meter shall be owned by the city. The city reserves the right to inspect said sprinkler meter and user's premises in order to determine if the sprinkler meter is being used solely for the above-mentioned purpose.
(2) The sprinkler meter shall be billed on the basis of water charges of the city but shall not be billed for sewer charges.
(3) The user shall be responsible for the installation of said meter at the following cost of said meter:

Additionally, the user shall be responsible for the following costs:
(a) $50 Water Department service and inspection costs.
(b) Fees for plumbing inspection and electrical, if required.
(4) The following requirements are for sprinkler meter installations where there is a direct tap-on to the city's main water line:
(a) All meters for aboveground use shall be placed inside a heated building and meet all the location, installation and remote reading requirements of the City Code; or, shall be housed in an outside aboveground meter enclosure built to the specifications contained herein. Said meter shall provide for remote read as required by City Code of all meters.
(b) In all aboveground meter and RPZ meter locations, the meter must be purchased from the city at the current price for the size required. All meters shall remain the property of the city.
(c) The cost of all maintenance, repairs or replacement of the meter located in outside aboveground enclosures shall be the responsibility of the landowner or association or corporation, on whose land the meter is being used. All repairs or maintenance will be caused to be made by the city.
(d) The maintenance and repair of all RPZ valves and all other water distribution pipe, valves and fixtures from the corporate cock to the final terminus of the distribution system shall be the responsibility of the landowner or association or corporation on whose land the distribution system is installed.
(e) All outdoor aboveground meters and RPZ valves shall be removed from their meter enclosure, winterized and properly stored by the landowner or association or corporation that has responsibility for the meter. Removal shall take place no later than October 15 of each year and may not be reinstalled prior to May 1 of each year. All of the above work shall be the responsibility of the landowner or association or corporation that has responsibility for the meter.
(f) The bill for all water volume passing or estimated as passing through the meter shall be the responsibility of the landowner or association or corporation that has responsibility for the meter.

Material:
20 gauge (.035) galvanized steel
Construction:
All 1/8" stainless steel pop riveted construction with two 2" x 4" Stanley hinges mounted to box and to concrete pad for easy access with one fixed staple pad/locking safety clasp mounted on opposite side of hinge for security.
A 4" thick concrete pad formed and poured on a bed of gravel at least 4" deep. The pad should be at least 6" wider on all sides than the enclosure. And be sleeved where water service pipe extends through. With a meter support arm embedded in the concrete.

(5) In addition to other fees and costs there shall be a tap-on connection fee for sprinkler meter users with direct tap-on to city water main line as follows:

(6) The user shall install the separate sprinkler service tap according to the City Development Code.
(C) The minimum rate charge for water users shall not apply to sprinkler meters.
