§ 30.126 DUTIES.
   The City Attorney shall appear for the city in all cases wherein the city is a party, in all courts, shall give legal opinions where required upon subjects submitted to him or her by the Mayor or the City Council, or by any department of the municipal government, shall draft ordinances, shall aid in revising ordinances and shall act as the legal advisor of the Mayor, the City Council and committees thereof, and all other officers of the city in all matters pertaining to the city. The City Attorney shall also attend the sessions of the Council, draft contracts, deeds, bonds, and all other legal papers when so directed by the Council or committees thereof.
