For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
LAWN STRIP, TREE LAWN or CURB STRIP. The part of a street or highway right-of-way outside of the portion improved for travel, including the sidewalk.
PARK. All public parks.
PROPERTY LINE. The legal boundary line.
PUBLIC LANDS, PUBLIC AREAS or PUBLIC PROPERTY. All grounds other than public parks owned by the village.
PUBLIC TREES. All shade and ornamental trees now or hereafter growing on any street, including the lawn strip, tree lawn or curb strip, or on any other public land.
STREET or HIGHWAY. The entire width of every public way or right-of-way when any part thereof is open to the use of the public, as a matter of right, for the purpose of vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
TREES. All trees, regardless of species and height, and all woody shrubs, regardless of size or height.
