No auto-for-hire shall exhibit any sign, symbol, lettering or figure on or from any part of such vehicle, except the license tags required by law, nor shall the driver of any auto-for-hire solicit or accept passengers on the streets, public places or quasi-public places, or stand in any public taxicab stand, but an auto-for-hire may be used as a driverless auto-for-hire without an additional license fee.
