§ 856.15 METAL TAGS.
At the time the license is issued by the Village Clerk-Treasurer to the owner of any public vehicle, such Village Clerk-Treasurer shall also issue to such owner a metal tag showing the class of public vehicle, the license number and the year for which issued. The tag for each public vehicle shall be numbered separately and the tag for each taxicab shall be numbered to correspond to the body number assigned by the Administrator. No tag shall be displayed on any public vehicle except the one for which it was issued. The tag shall be affixed to the front of the vehicle so as to be plainly discernible at all times. Whenever the owner of a public vehicle ceases to operate the same, or whenever the license of the public vehicle is suspended or revoked, the owner shall return the tag to the Village Clerk-Treasurer. In the case of reinstatement after suspension, the Village Clerk-Treasurer shall re-issue the tag to the licensee.
