§ 856.02 OPERATOR’S LICENSE REQUIRED; FEES.
   (a)   No person or entity shall operate or permit or cause to be operated a vehicle as a public vehicle, or proffer the services of such a vehicle as a vehicle, by solicitation by voice, sign, public advertisement or otherwise, unless the proper license has been issued to the owner thereof and is in force.
   (b)   Every license shall expire on January 31 of the year following the year in which it was issued.
   (c)   License fees for any year or part thereof for each public vehicle shall be payable to the Auditor in the following amounts per year:
 
Taxicab
$25
Auto-for-hire
$15
Driverless auto-for-hire
$10
 
   (d)   The license fee required by this section shall be in addition to any fee required by the laws of the state.
