§ 660.05 DUTY TO KEEP SIDEWALKS IN REPAIR AND CLEAN.
   (a)   No owner or occupant of abutting lands shall fail to keep the sidewalks, curbs or gutters in repair and free from snow, ice or any nuisance.
   (b)   (1)   The owner, agent, lessee, lessor, occupant or any person otherwise in control or in charge of any premises abutting a sidewalk, sidewalk area or a street within the village shall remove or cause to be removed, after notification by a police officer, any debris, litter, rubbish or other matter which has accumulated or is deposited thereon from any cause. Such areas include sidewalks and areas along or near the same and they shall be kept in a clean condition.
      (2)   The responsibility of such persons shall be joint and several and the material and debris shall be removed with all reasonable promptness and without any undue delay.
      (3)   As used in this section, SIDEWALK and SIDEWALK AREA mean the entire area from or near the property line to the established or presumable curb line.
   (c)   Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Punishment shall be as provided in § 698.02.
