(a) The purpose of R-1 Single-Family Residential Districts is to preserve, protect and encourage the development of areas of detached, single-family dwellings within the municipality.
(b) The purpose of R-2 Single-Family Residential Districts is to preserve, protect and encourage the development of single-family residential subdivisions that include lots of medium size within the municipality.
(c) The purpose of R-3 Medium Density Residential Districts is to preserve, protect and encourage the development of single-family uses on smaller lots within the municipality.
