§ 412.07 STREET SALES.
   No person shall demonstrate, sell or offer for sale any goods, wares or merchandise from any vehicle, or from any box, basket, bag or other container, upon the highways of the municipality, except in authorized market stands not closer than 20 feet to intersections elsewhere than at alleys. No person shall stand or go upon a roadway for the purpose of demonstrating, selling or offering for sale any goods, wares, newspapers or merchandise, or of distributing or handing out handbills, cards, leaflets, samples of merchandise or other similar items. No person shall demonstrate, sell or offer for sale, upon any highway within a congested or closely built up portion of the municipality, except at authorized market stands, any goods, wares or merchandise, other than newspapers. Nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit the distribution of noncommercial handbills, cards, leaflets or other literature on sidewalks.
