9.04: PARKING HOURS:
Parking on streets shall be limited as follows:
   A.   Parking Lots: It is unlawful for any person to stop, park or leave standing any vehicle upon any street or municipal parking lot for a continuous period in excess of twenty four (24) hours. (Ord. 73, 3rd Series, eff. 11-6-1989)
   B.   Time Limited Parking: he chief of police may, when authorized by the council, designate certain streets, blocks or portions of streets or blocks as five (5) minute, ten (10) minute, fifteen (15) minute, thirty (30) minute, one hour, two (2) hour, four (4) hour, six (6) hour or eight (8) hour limited parking zones, and shall mark by appropriate signs any zones so established. Such zones shall be established whenever necessary for the convenience of the public or to minimize traffic hazards and preserve a free flow of traffic. It is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle in any limited parking zone between the hours of eight o'clock (8:00) A.M. and six o'clock (6:00) P.M. of any weekday for a longer period than is specified in the signposting of such zone.    C.   Parking Permit: The chief of police is authorized to issue permits allowing parking in a municipal lot for more than twenty four (24) hours. The permit shall be in such form as the chief of police may determine. The chief of police shall issue a permit if, upon investigation, it is determined that the applicant resides near a municipal parking lot and lacks sufficient off street parking; however, the chief of police may limit the number of vehicles that may be parked by a permit holder.
