Auxiliary police officers, prior to entering upon any of their duties, shall receive a course of training in the use of weapons and other police procedures by the Police Chief or through a course of training designated by him or her. This course of training shall be not less than 22 hours in duration. Upon completion of the course of training the Police Chief shall file, with the City Clerk, a certificate attesting to the auxiliary police officer’s completion of the course.
