9-3-6: PROHIBITED ANIMALS:
It shall be unlawful to house, keep, or maintain livestock or exotic animals, within the Village, except in zoological parks, performing animal exhibitions, educational institutions, veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, or as otherwise provided in this chapter or within the Village's Zoning Code. Livestock and exotic animals shall be defined as follows:
 
EXOTIC:
Meaning any animal that is not normally domesticated in the United States or is wild by nature, whether bred in the wild or captivity and also their hybrids with domestic species.
LIVESTOCK:
Meaning breeds of animals primarily raised for commercial purposes on agricultural property, in out- buildings or open spaces separate from residences. Typical animals include, but are not limited to fowl, poultry, except for chickens (Gallus domesticus) as provided for herein, bison, cattle, pigs, swine, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, equidae, camelids, and ratites.
