1160.01   TITLE, CITATION AND REFERENCE.
   (a)   This Zoning Code shall be known and cited as the Zoning Code of the Village of Lisbon, Ohio, and shall be referred herein as "this Zoning Code."
   (b)   The Lisbon Historic District shall include more than the small downtown area previously designated Historic Downtown Lisbon.  It shall be expanded to include the boundaries of the Village.  Within the Lisbon Historic District, there shall be a Downtown Historic District.  It will encompass the following:  Lincoln Way from the square east to the middle of Jefferson Street; south on Jefferson Street to the middle of East Washington Street; west on East Washington Street to the alley between the Methodist Church and the "row houses"; south to the alley running east and west to South Market Street; north on South Market Street to Maple Street, and west on Maple Street to the alley; north on first alley (unnamed) to the middle of Washington Street; west on Washington Street to the middle of South Beaver, north on South Beaver to the middle of West Lincoln Way, west  on West Lincoln Way to Legion Alley, north on Legion Alley to West Chestnut Street; east on West Chestnut Street to the middle of South Jefferson Street (both north and south side of East and West Chestnut Street are included) (See map attached to Ordinance No. 1905.)
   (c)   All Lisbon zoning laws currently in effect in the Lisbon Historic District will also be in effect in the Downtown Historic District.
   (d)   The Lisbon Historic District is being expressly created to aid any of our citizens who own a historic home or other qualified property in the Village and would like to apply for tax credits or grant money to assist with repairs or restoration to this property.  These programs and grants continually change and are NOT provided by the Village and the Village assumes no responsibility or liability for them.
   (e)   Although the Downtown Historic District is within the Lisbon Historic District, there shall be separate zoning requirements and rules for each since the needs of each are very different.
   (f)   A certificate to authenticate properties as being in the Lisbon Historic District is available from the Office of the Zoning Board should one be needed for grant application.  The applicant/property owner shall follow all rules and or direction provided by the program to which the application/property owner is making application.  The Village is in no way responsible for providing any funds or assistance in securing funds.
