149.15   SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY.
   (a)   The members of the Lisbon Village Council and the Mayor recognize that an employee's right to freedom from employment discrimination includes the opportunity to work in an environment untainted by sexual harassment. Sexually offensive speech and conduct are wholly inappropriate to the harmonious employment relationships necessary to the operation of the Village and are intolerable in the work place.
   (b)   Sexual harassment includes all unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors, and verbal or physical contacts of a sexual nature, whenever submission to such conduct is made a condition of employment or a basis for an employment decision, or when such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment.
   (c)   The sexual harassment of an employee of this Village is strictly forbidden. Any employee, elected official or appointee of the Village Council who is found to have sexually harassed an employee of this Village will be subject to discipline. This discipline may result in the removal of the offender. Any employee who has been exposed to sexual harassment by any employee or appointee of this Village is encouraged to report the harassment to the appropriate supervisor and/or the Mayor.
   (d)   The Mayor shall instruct all employees and appointees of this Council to recognize and correct speech and behavior patterns that may be sexually offensive with or without the intent to offend.
