§ 52.01  RATES AND CHARGES.
   (A)   The City of Linton operates the Sanitation Utility to provide garbage pickup for utility customers.
   (B)   The Common Council of the City of Linton now finds that the existing rates and charges for the use of the service rendered by the Sanitation Utility are insufficient to produce revenue to pay all of the necessary expenses incident to the operation of the utility.
   (C)   (1)   Garbage pickup.  The charges for garbage pickup shall be as follows:

   (D)   The above Subsection (C) will be in full force and effect as of June 1, 2014, for the bills that are payable as of July 6, 2014.
   (E)   The amount of garbage to be collected from each residential customer is limited to four 33-gallon bags per week.
   (F)   (1)   Garbage for commercial customers may be collected up to three times per week with a limit of four 33-gallon bags for each pickup.
      (2)   Approved trash for pickup and non-approved trash for pickup:
         (a)   Approved trash for pickup; all trash must be in approved containers or be in bags:
            1.   Container must be weather proof;
            2.   Containers must have lids and handles;
            3.   Four 33 gallon bag limit;
            4.   Max weight 50# per can, 15# per bag;
            5.   No loose trash, must be in approved container or bagged;
            6.   Household trash only;
            7.   Trash needs to be set curb side by 5:00 a.m. the morning of pickup.
         (b)   Non approved trash for pickup:
            1.   Construction material including but not limited to: roofing, flooring, drywall, wood, concrete, windows, appliances, bedding.
            2.   Hazardous waste including but not limited to: paint, oils, batteries, tvs, computers, tires.
            3.   Dirt, sand, rock, yard waste, grass clippings, limbs and leaves.
            4.   Animal waste, kitty litter unless bagged and under 10#.
            5.   No loose trash or trash in cardboard boxes.
   (G)   Grass, yard debris and construction waste will not be collected.  However, the Sanitation Department may be able to assist with disposal of this type of debris at an additional charge.  Capabilities of assistance and applicable charges will be determined by the Sanitation Superintendent.
   (H)   This section shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage and approval by the Mayor and the Common Council of the City of Linton, Indiana.
