§ 212.01 PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD ESTABLISHED AND MEMBERSHIP.
   A city planning board to be known as the Planning and Zoning Board is hereby established. The Planning and Zoning Board shall serve as the city's planning agency as defined by M.S. § 462.354, as it may be amended from time to time. Membership of the Planning and Zoning Board shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with City Council approval, for three-year terms commencing on January 1. Terms shall be staggered so that no more than one-half of the members' terms expire at one time. Both the original and successive appointee shall hold their respective offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies during the term shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments are made for the unexpired portion of the term vacated. Every appointed member shall before entering upon the discharge of his or her duties, have taken an oath that he or she will faithfully discharge the duties of his or her office.
