§ 33.35  TENURE AND COMPENSATION.
   (A)   The Chief of Police is appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Aldermen.
   (B)   The beginning rate of compensation will be determined by the Board of Aldermen.
   (C)   Salary increases and all other employee benefits will be as established by the city Police Department Employee Handbook.
   (D)   A workweek will consist of no less than 40 hours a week, which can include holiday time, sick time, and/or vacation.
   (E)   This is a salaried position and no additional compensation will be given for over 40 hours. Under special circumstances, the Board of Alderman may approve additional compensation.
