§ 32.04  MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.
   (A)   All motor vehicles licensed by the state shall be required to have the minimum amount of motor vehicle insurance, as determined by the state’s Department of Revenue, when operating within the corporate limits of the city, and said operator must provide evidence of said insurance coverage upon request of a police officer of the city.
   (B)   Failure to have the required insurance or failure to produce evidence of the same shall result, upon conviction, in assessment of a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
   (C)   The request for the required insurance by a police officer of the city can only be made in conjunction with a motor vehicle or operator violation or as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
