This chapter shall apply to all lands within the jurisdiction of the city identified as numbered and unnumbered A zones and AE zones on the flood insurance rate map (FIRM) for Camden County on map panels 29029C0230C; 29029C0235C, dated June 16, 2011; and 29029C0240D, dated April 18, 2018, as amended, and any future revisions thereto. In all areas covered by this chapter, no development shall be permitted except through the issuance of a floodplain development permit, granted by the Board of Aldermen or its duly designated representative under such safeguards and restrictions as the Board of Aldermen or its designated representative may reasonably impose for the promotion and maintenance of the general welfare, health of the inhabitants of the community, and as specifically noted in §§ 152.25 through 152.29.
