§ 92.08 WILD DOGS, WILD CATS AND OTHER WILD ANIMALS.
   (A)   Upon written notice of the Chief of Police that private property of another is attracting or providing shelter to dogs or cats that are not owned or cared for by any known person, the owner of the property shall be responsible for removing the wild dogs or cats in a humane manner within 30 days of the written notice.

   (B)   (1)   It shall be illegal for any person to own, possess, harbor, or offer for sale, any wild animal within the city, except the following will be allowed with a valid health certificate and an annual checkup by a veterinarian:
         (a)   Skunks, if de-scented and neutered;
         (b)   Ferrets;
         (c)   Hedgehogs;
         (d)   Chinchillas;
         (e)   Sugar gliders (a marsupial).
      (2)   Raccoons will be allowed for display only by a commercial pet store operating with a CUP (Conditional Use Permit). Any owner of a wild animal at the time of adoption of this code shall have 30 days in which to remove the animal from the city, after which time the city may impound the animal as provided for in this section. An exception shall be made to this prohibition for animals specifically trained for, and actually providing assistance to, the handicapped or disabled, and for those animals brought into the city as part of an operating zoo, veterinarian clinic, scientific research laboratory, or a licensed show or exhibition.
