For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
WIND ENERGY CONVERSIONS SYSTEMS, NONCOMMERCIAL. A machine (sometimes known as a wind turbine or windmill) designed for converting kinetic energy in the wind to mechanical or electrical energy, for the primary purpose of on-site use and not for resale or transmission off-site. WIND ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS include tower and all directly connected facilities and associated control equipment, but not including any wired connections stemming from the tower.
