§ 31.17 TO ACT IN SUPPLEMENTARY CAPACITY.
   Reserve police officers shall act only in a supplementary capacity to the regular police force. Reserve police officers may be called into service by the Chief of Police when the Chief, in his or her discretion, considers it necessary to have additional officers to preserve the peace and enforce the law. When called into service, the reserve police officer shall serve as a peace officer during the actual discharge of official duties.
