(A) There is hereby established a school zone in the city along and upon the following streets and areas:
(1) On Seventh Street from Elizabeth Street to Knight Drive;
(2) On Knight Drive from Seventh Street to the campus of the Lindsay School;
(3) On Elizabeth Street from Seventh Street to the campus of the Lindsay School;
(4) On Fourth Street from Willow Street to the West Town limits line; and
(5) On Ash Street from Fourth Street to Main Street.
(B) During days school is in session, the speed limit of motor vehicles in said school zone and on the above-listed streets shall be 20 mph from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
(C) The phrase MOTOR VEHICLE is hereby defined to mean any motor vehicle as defined in Tex. Trans. Code, § 541.201, except EMERGENCY VEHICLES as defined therein.
(D) Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this schedule by exceeding the posted speed limits or failing to yield to pedestrians crossing the street shall be deemed guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed the amount specified in the Uniform Traffic Law of the state.
