(A) (1) The City Street Department is hereby authorized to install and maintain speed bumps on Fourth Street as a speed and traffic control measure for vehicular traffic. The speed bumps shall be located on either side of the pedestrian crosswalk across Fourth Street. The western-most speed bump shall be located approximately 175 feet east of the city limits on Fourth Street and the easternmost speed bump shall be located approximately 866 feet east of that same city limits.
(2) The speed bumps are to be installed and maintained by the City Street Department with the supervision of the City Engineer. The city shall install signs on Fourth Street notifying the drivers of the presence of the speed bumps and the reduced speed limit.
(B) Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this schedule by exceeding the posted speed limits or failing to yield to pedestrians crossing the street shall be deemed guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed the amount specified in the Uniform Traffic Law of the state.
