The Lindenhurst police department shall consist of the following positions: chief of police; commander; sergeant; police officers; and such other part time police officers and employees as may be lawfully provided by the village board from time to time. Should any commander position become vacant, an additional patrol officer shall be temporarily authorized until the vacant commander position is filled.
