(A) The zoning board of appeals is created by the zoning ordinance of the village. The manner of appointment, terms of office, procedures, duties and powers of the zoning board of appeals shall be as provided in division (B) of this section and chapter 159 of this code.
(B) As of May 9, 2011, the members of the zoning board of appeals shall also serve as members of the plan commission, and the chair of the plan commission shall also serve as the chair of the zoning board of appeals. The initial term for a member of the zoning board of appeals serving concurrently on the plan commission shall coincide with the member's remaining plan commission term. Upon the expiration of the plan commission member's remaining term, the term of office for any reappointment or new appointment to the concurrent office of plan commission and zoning board of appeals shall be 5 years. The resignation, removal, or replacement of any member from the plan commission shall be deemed to be a resignation, removal, or replacement from the zoning board of appeals.
