(A) The board of trustees, consisting of 6 members, shall be elected to office for a term of 4 years as provided by statute. The board shall be the legislative department of the village government and shall perform such duties and have such powers as may be delegated to it by statute.
(B) The village president shall be elected for a term of 4 years and shall serve until his successor is elected and qualified as provided by statute. He may be referred to as the mayor of the village.
