For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BOARDING HOME. Any place, residence, or home used for the reception, limited care, or supervision for a consideration of three or more persons not related to the proprietor who by reason of infancy, age, infirmity, or physical disability are dependent on the services of others, and in need of supervision of an adult.
CARE IN A NURSING HOME. Personal services such as help in walking, getting out of bed, assistance in bathing, help in dressing and feeding, and in addition, services which require training or skill beyond that of the ordinary layman, for example a bed bath, enemas, irrigations, catheterizations, application of bandages and dressings, and administration of medicines and carrying out other treatments prescribed by a physician requiring a like level of complexity and skill in operation.
LIMITED CARE IN A BOARDING HOME. Help in walking, help in getting in and out of bed, assistance in bathing, help in dressing or feeding, preparation of meals, supervision over medication which can be self-administered, and similar types of assistance.
NURSING HOME. Any place, residence, or home used for the reception and care for a consideration of three or more persons not members of the immediate family of the person operating such facilities who by reason of infancy, age, or infirmity are dependent on the services of others.
SUPERVISION IN A BOARDING HOME. Responsibility for a child's attendance in school, responsibility for a child's general welfare, responsibility for the discipline of a child, responsibility for the purchase of clothing and food for a child with or without the assistance of a governmental or private social welfare or clinical agency, and similar types of duties.
