The existing elective offices of Mayor, Vice Mayor, Village Clerk, Treasurer and all other offices held under the statutory form of government are hereby abolished by this Charter effective December 31, 1993. The term of council members and other elected municipal officials elected prior to the election to be held on November 2, 1993, shall cease and terminate on December 31, 1993, at which time the first Council elected under this Charter shall take office and this Charter shall go into effect for all municipal purposes.
