In case any building, structure, site, area, or object designated a historic property is about to be demolished whether as the result of deliberate neglect or otherwise, materially altered, remodeled, or removed, except in compliance with this chapter, the Board of Commissioners or Historic Preservation Commission may institute any appropriate action or proceedings to prevent the unlawful demolition, material alteration, remodeling, or removal, to restrain, correct, or abate the violation, or to prevent any illegal act of conduct with respect to the historic property.
