§ 93.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor as provided by G.S. § 14-4 and may be punished as provided therein. Each day the violation continues after the owner has been notified of the violation shall constitute a separate violation of this chapter. The maximum fine exceeds $50 and may be set by the court in an amount not to exceed $500.
   (B)   Civil penalties may be imposed in accordance with the following procedure:
      (1)   Initial notification of violation;
      (2)   If not corrected within ten days, a warning citation may be issued;
      (3)   If not corrected within seven days of issuance of a warning citation, a second citation including the fine of $20 per day as allowed by G.S. § 153A-123 (or successor statute) shall be imposed; and
      (4)   Each day shall constitute a separate violation of this chapter.
   (C)   Notification of violation must:
      (1)   Be issued by the Ordinance Administrator;
      (2)   Be in writing, directed by name to the owner of the structure; and
      (3)   Must set forth the action necessary for the offender to be in compliance with this chapter.
