§ 70.03 LIMITATIONS OF STOPPING AND PARKING.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to stop or park such vehicle, except in a case of emergency, or in compliance with the provisions of this traffic code, or when directed by a law enforcement officer or traffic sign or signal at any time in the following places:
      (1)   On traveled portion of any roadway or on any other place in the roadway where vehicles stand in any manner other than as specified in § 70.02;
      (2)   On a sidewalk;
      (3)   In front of sidewalk ramps provided for persons with disabilities;
      (4)   In front of a public or private driveway;
      (5)   Within an intersection or crosswalk;
      (6)   At any place where official signs prohibit stopping or parking. This does not apply to law enforcement officers when operating properly identified vehicles during the performance of their official duties or to emergency personnel and vehicle responding to an actual or reported emergency;
      (7)   Within 30 feet of any flashing beacons, traffic sign or traffic-control device;
      (8)   No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his or her control into any such prohibited area;
      (9)   It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle within ten feet of a fire hydrant; or
      (10)   It shall be unlawful for any vehicle to park in an area designated as a “fire lane”. These areas shall be designated by the Fire Department in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 1141 and approval of the County Judge Executive or his or her designee. These areas are to be marked by appropriate sign and/or paint (KRS 189.450(5), (6)).
   (B)   This section shall also apply to “fire lanes” required for businesses under and planning and zoning ordinance and as are set forth in the plat or development plans for the business, a copy of which are on record at any Planning and Zoning office or the County Clerk’s office.
