§ 31.048 ABSENCE FROM TOWN.
   In the event that the Town Manager is absent from the town or incapacitated to such a degree he or she is unable to perform the duties required of his or her position, the Town Manager shall designate which staff member shall act as Town Manager during such absence or incapacity. This designation shall occur at the first meeting of each year and such designation shall be effective for the remainder of the year, upon approval by the Board of Trustees. In the event that the designated staff member desires to be removed from such designation, the designated employee leaves employment with the town, or the Town Manager believes that another employee would better fulfill those obligations and responsibilities in the absence of the Manager, the Town Manager may reselect his or her designee at any time subject to approval of the Board of Trustees.
