§ 30.001 MAYOR; ELECTION AND DUTIES.
   At the 4-4-1972 election, and at the regular election every four years thereafter, a Mayor shall be elected to serve a four-year term and shall serve until his or her successor is elected and qualified as is provided by statute.
   (A)   Duties.
      (1)   The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the town, shall preside over the meeting of the Board of Trustees and shall perform such duties as may be required by statute, code or ordinance.
      (2)   The Mayor shall be an administrator for the employee’s pension plan and shall execute those duties under the advisement of the Board of Trustees.
   (B)   Formal occasions. The Mayor shall act for and on behalf of the town on formal occasions and receptions; but in the Mayor’s absence or inability to attend any such function the Town Board may select any other town officer to so act.
