Whenever the Electrical Inspector is satisfied that electric wiring or any work in connection therewith, the installation or repair of which is regulated, permitted or forbidden by this Electrical Code, is being installed or repaired in violation of the provisions or requirements of this Electrical Code, or of a detailed statement or plan submitted and approved hereunder or of a permit or certificate issued hereunder, he shall immediately notify the Building Commissioner who shall serve a written notice or order upon the person responsible therefor directing such person to discontinue such illegal action and remedy the condition that is in violation.
In case such notice or order is not promptly complied with, the Building Commissioner, in addition to other remedies, may request the Director of Law to institute an appropriate action or proceeding at law or in equity to restrain, correct or remove such violation or the execution of work thereon; or to restrain or correct the installation or repair of, require the removal of or prevent the use of, the electric wiring installed or repaired in violation of or not in compliance with the provisions of this Electrical Code, or with respect to which the requirements hereof, or of any order or direction made pursuant to provisions contained herein, have not been complied with.
