848.02   LICENSE FEE FOR PEDDLERS, HAWKERS AND VENDORS; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   (1)   Any person engaged in the business of selling or offering for sale from house to house on any public street within the City any fruits, vegetables, peanuts, ice cream, candy, similar confections, and other food products, or any goods or merchandise of any description shall pay an annual license fee in the amount specified in Section 868.01.
      (2)   Any person using a vehicle for selling such articles of food or merchandise on the streets of the City shall obtain and have securely fastened to his vehicle license plates, which shall be furnished by the City License Clerk without additional cost to the licensee.
   (B)   Any person who sells any product of his own raising or manufacture or who is permitted by any law of the United States or of the State to pursue such occupation or business by reason of being an honorably discharged member of the Armed Services of the United States shall not be required to pay the license fee required by subsection (A) hereof.
